Ikea is now planning to take on other retailers with its new printed catalogs that will allow you to view an augmented reality experience through your compatible smartphone, which will allow users to view products with a better angle when not inside the store allowing you to window shop from home.

But don’t worry if you’re a fan of the paper ones as the new catalogs will be exactly the same as the current ones just with that added augmented reality bonus, so if you don’t own a smartphone you can still search for a new cupboard.

With over 210 million copies of their annual catalog shipped a year, the catalog is defiantly one of the most popular ones in the world, with 20 times the readership than the population of Sweden, the addition of augmented reality may prove to be a trendsetter in the next few months, make sure to look out for Argos and over catalog stores who will most defiantly be coping in some way shape or form soon.
