Instagram has today unveiled a feature that we have been awaiting for some time, it is an obvious addition for the social network that will add shopping tags to images that are shown from within the app.
Currently, the feature is just in its testing phase, but it does all companies to sell their products directly through Instagram with product tags.
It is being tested on the iOS version of the app and it works in a similar way to how tagging works right now, with integration directly into the app itself, rather than linking you to a third-party app or browser.
When a user clicks on one of these tags, users will see a webpage added from within the Instagram app.
You won’t be seeing these tags right away though, but there are some launch test partners, including Abercombie & Fitch, BaubleBar, Coach, Hollister, JackThreads, J.Crew, Kate Spade New York, Levi’s, Lulu’s, Macy’s, Michael Kors, MVMT Watches, Tory Burch, Warby Parker, and Shopbop.
