The owner of Digg, Betaworks have just acquired the article saving app, Instapaper. Announced on Instapaper’s blog, the apps founder Marco Arment announced that the company had been acquired, adding that he will remain as an advisor, however Betaworks will take over all of the apps operations, expand its staff and try to develop it further.

Betaworks are a new startup studio that has made its way in seeding projects around the web, most notably the failing social networking site, Digg.

There’s currently no information of how much the company wass acquired for, or what Betaworks will be doing with it, but after they brought Digg back, I feel pretty confident that they can work their magic with Instapaper, in an effort to keep it relevant.

However we do know that the app will remain available on all platforms.
