AllThingsD, who first predicted the launch of the iPad 2 and thew new iPad, revealed earlier today that Apple will be release the iPad Mini on Tuesday 32rd October.

Of course these are all just rumors, but as AllThingsD have a track record for this kind of thing, I wouldn’t expect it to be any different.

Alongside their track record, this would make the release of the iPad Mini three days before the Windows 8 release, which would completely undercut Microsoft, leading to poor surface sales and great iPad sales.

The iPad Mini does have rumored specs that differ widely from the Surface tablet, with a 7.85 inch display and of course Apple’s new Lightning connector, but will apparently only be available in a Wi-Fi version.
