It seems that the leaks and rumors have finally fallen to Apple, leaking the iPhone 5S product name on their own website, posting what seemed to be a case for the iPhone 5S on their Hungarian based website.
Of course this was then picked up and posted by the avid Twitter leaker @evleaks, showing a link for Apple’s site that originally listed a Kate Spade case for the iPhone 5S, after which this was shortly updated to be a case for the iPhone 5, with all caches deleted.
However it may have been a little too late for Apple as the URL still includes the title “iPhone 5S”.
Alongside which, they then had a second leak from the French Canadian website, showing a 3M privacy filter for the smartphone, something that has since been pulled, but for some reason the caches still remain, listing the following in the source code:
“Le filtre de confidentialité 3M™ pour iPhone 5S avec fini lustré intègre la technologie microvolets 3M et vous…” translating to “The privacy filter 3M ™ iPhone 5S with gloss finish incorporates microshutters 3M technology and you … $ 29.95. Ready for shipment: 1 to 2 months.”
Of course this is not a pure confirmation of the iPhone 5S product name, but I would say that its a pretty firm confirmation.
We should see more official news on the rumored September 10th unveiling event.
