LG has just announced its next flagship handset, the LG G3 at its event  that was hosted in London, New York, San Francisco, Seoul, Singapore and Istanbul earlier today.

The Q3 will have a 5.5 inch Quad HD display with a 2560 x 1440 (538ppi), alongside a 13 megapixel camera with a laser auto focus and OIS, and a design that LG say is simpler, with buttons only existing on the back of the phone, so no side facing or front facing buttons.

On top of that, the phone features specs similar to that which has been leaked, including a polished metallic finished design, which LG says uses a “floating arc form factor”, allowing the user to comfortably type with one hand and use the device’s rear facing button.

Inside of the handset there;s a 2.5Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with 2GB of RAM, or 3GB of RAM depending on the region.

There’s also 16 or 32GB of in-built storage, alongside a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 128GB, and a 3,000mAh battery, and Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed.

LG have also installed a number of add-ons with the G3 including something they call the Smart Keyboard, which will use adaptive technology learn as you type resulting in less mistakes whilst typing, in fact LG say it reduces input errors by up to 75%. There’s also something called Smart Notice, which is LG’s version of a personal assistant, providing suggestions and recommendations to the user based on the phone usage patterns, and the location of the user. For example it could bring up notifications to remind you of calls that you have declined earlier, or even tell you about apps that are taking up valuable space.

There’s also some security features that have been added in, including Knock Code, which allows a user to unlock their device with a pattern of taps, alongside Content Lock and Kill Switch. Content Lock allows users to lock files, and Kill Switch allows G3 owners to remotely disable their phone.

The LG will also launch with a number of accessories, including the QuickCircle Case, a wireless charger and the LG Tone Infinim which is a Bluetooth stereo handset that uses a retractable wire, and was built with Harman/ Kardon.

The LG G3 will launch in South Korea on May 28th, after which it will rollout to various carriers worldwide, hitting the UK from July 1st 2014.
