The UK retailer John Lewis, has today revealed that they will be the first store within the UK to stock the Barnes & Noble Nook eBook reader when they launch here in October.

The devices will be available both in-store and online. but with so much dominance from the Kindle reader here in the UK, I’m unsure how well it will do in the terms of sales and in order to take some of the Kindle’s market, Barnes & Noble will have to release a new device, which they will be doing with the launch of the Simple Touch and Simple Touch with Glowlight.

Jamie Iannone, the president of Digital Products at Barnes & Noble said this about the move to John Lewis:

“John Lewis is where knowledgeable customers turn for trusted advice on the best products to purchase, and they are a perfect partner to help launch Nook in the UK, We look forward to bringing more choice and convenience to discerning UK customers with our critically acclaimed line of reading devices and expansive selection of content.”

The deal that the company has set up will include the two Simple Touch devices and all of the current line-up, but as for future products we will have to wait and see.
