Part of Microsoft’s proposition to get Xbox owners to join Xbox Live Gold is their Games with Gold campaign, which grants users who subscribe the the Xbox Live Gold service a set of free games each month for both the Xbox One and the Xbox 360.
July’s games will include 3 titles in total, the first being Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition which will launch as part of the scheme on July 2nd, replacing the previous title, Halo: Spartan Assault.
The easiest way to describe Guacmelee would be to call it a brawler/ platform, design as part of the [email protected] program, players must complete a quest that sees them save the President’s daughter from the evil skeletal, Carlos Calaca. To do this players must take control of a masked Mexican wrestler named Juan Aguacate, battling their way through a set of arenas.
Next up is the two Xbox 360 games, which will be kicked off with the free release of Gotham City Imposters from July 1st to July 15th. In that game players face off against each other in a six v six batlle, using a range of well known characters from the Batman series, them simply have to fight each other to the death.
Shortly after Gotham City Impostors is released, Microsoft will be making BattleBlock Theater available to download for free via the campaign, available to download from July 16-31, in this players can choose to either play by themselves or co-operatively in order to save Hatty Hattington. On their journey players will need to solve and battle their way through a number of theaters.
