At their event today, Lenovo officially revealed the next smartphone from Motorola, called the Moto Z, the smartphone is the latest flagship from Lenovo in the Moto line-up, with a number of interesting features.

Probably the most interesting feature on the smartphone is that it is modular, which means you can add on a number of Modules that have been named MotoMods, which will connection to the pins on the back of the smartphone, allowing you to add a number of modules that includes JBL stereo speakers, an extra battery pack, a 70-inch projector and stylised panels.

MotoMods will also have a developer program to allow third-parties to create modules for the Moto Z.

Lenovo will be selling two phones under the Z branding, both will feature a 5.5-inch screen that has a thing front bezel for a complete viewing experience, with a fingerprint sensor on the front-facing button, with dual front-firing speakers and with a Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM inside.

The Moto Z Force is the second of the two devices, with a shatterproof display like the Moto X Force, however, aside from that it’s pretty much the same as the normal Z, aside from that the normal Z will only have a 2,600 mAh battery whereas the Z Force will have a 3,500 mAh.

The Z Force also has a better 21-megapixel camera, whereas the normal model only has a 12-megapixel shooter on the back.

The Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid will be available this summer in the US, however, we don’t yet know about other worldwide availability.
