After years of waiting, Leonardo Di Caprio has finally won an Oscar, winning the title for best actor in response to his performance in The Revenant.

Previously he has been nominated for What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, The Aviator, Blood Diamond, and The Wolf of Wall Street, but has never won any of them.

That makes this week’s award the first that he has won in six nominations.

Thankfully he didn’t let it go over his head, stating that “I do not take this night for granted,” in his acceptance speech.
