A rival that Apple won’t be too happy about is LG, who have just announced their new LG Spectrum, as you can probably tell from the name, the main feature of this phone is its screen, with a huge 4.5inch IPS LCD screen, which rivals the iPhone for clarity.

So far though the device will only be launched in the US Verizon LTE network, but here’s hoping it turns up in the UK someday, with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor as well as Android 2.3 and an 8MP camera with 1080p recording, this is one phone to look out for.

According to LG when you unwrap your new phone for the first time you will see it is already pre-loaded with ESPN Score Center, which will allow you to watch the games highlights in full HD, The Spectrum is set for a January 19th release date, costing $199.99 at various Verizon stores with a two-year contract.
