As you might already know from the number of rumours that have been posted here on TechNutty, LG has been expected to release their own curved display smartphone for some time now, a time which seems to be now as the company has just announced its curved display LG G Flex smartphone, which will directly take on Samsung’s Galaxy Round.

Featuring a 6 inch curved 720p display, the smartphone includes a 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera, 2.1 megapixel front facing camera, 3,500mAh battery and features Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with a weight of 177g and a thickness of 7.9mm – 8.7mm.

LG have also added a special coating to the back that will apparently self-heal hairline scratches, and the smartphone will include something called “Swing Lockscreen”, which will use a parallax effect to move the lockscreen along the direction of the curve.

As of yet there’s no word on an international rollout, or the phones pricing, but we do know that North Korea will see the handset this November.
