LG has this week announced a brand new monitor for release in may, dubbed the 34UM95, the IPS 21:9 UltraWide QHD monitor packs a massive 3440 x 1440 resolution, with LG’s 3-Screen Split and Dual Link-up functions, that allow the user to easily set the display up how they like it.

There’s also enhanced colour management built into the monitor, allowing users to ensure that colour tones and accuracy stays the same across all of their screens, with the ability to express over 99% of the sRGB colour space available, it offers a 10-bit colour depth, with LGs True Color Finder software built-in, to make sure the colour you see is always the right one.

LG have also built-in a Reader Mode that helps prevent eye-strain when using the TV for long periods of time, as well as a FLicker-Safe mode, which is said to virtually eliminate screen flicker.

And to top that off, the 34UM95 is also fully compatible with Thunderbolt 2, allowing for support with compatible Macs, it will enable users to grab transfer speeds of up to 20Gbps, which is currently the fastest speed that is available on any monitor. ThunderBolt 2 can also be daisy-chained so you only need one port to connect to up to six devices.

This means that users can both watch and edit raw 4K video, through a single port, with support for a range of devices, including the new Mac Pro.

The monitor will also support both HDMI and DisplayPort, for those who don’t have a ThunderBolt 2 port on the PC or Mac (or anything else that you might want to plug in).

“The latest monitor is a remarkably versatile device with exceptional picture quality and built-in stereo speakers to bring video and content to life, helping creative professionals work smarter and more efficiently.”  Hyoung-sei Park, Head of the IT Business Division at LG Electronics, explains in the companies press statement, “we are committed to providing a solution that is second-to-none and we are excited to bring the newest model in the line up to the UK market, allowing users to enjoy stunning colour accuracy and an incredible level of detail for an advanced viewing pleasure.”

“It’s a perfect solution for working on multimedia projects and computer-aided graphics as well as gaming enthusiasts looking to enhance the entertainment experience. Through products like this, LG will continue to expand its offerings to professionals in the creative arts and we have no doubt that this will be well received in the UK.”
