Logitech has unveiled its brand new portable security camera this week, now available for pre-order, the Logitech Logi Circle will be priced at $200 and has been created in order to compete with Google’s Nest camera.

The Logi Circle will do this with a number of features, allowing users to stream live HD video with 2-way Talk and Listen capabilities over a wireless network, it will also be controllable and viewable via an application on iOS or Android.

The camera will also feature Scene Intuition technology that will learn your home life patterns and will filter the footage to send alert only when interesting activity occurs, meaning you won’t get spammed with a ton of recordings.

Logi Circle can also auto-generate 30-second video summaries of the best moments from that day, and because it is portable you can take it from room to room and stream for up to three hours from a single charge.

Vincent Borel, director of new ventures at Logitech explains more :

There’s a new movement in home monitoring. The nature of today’s connected world is changing the way people interact with cameras in the home. Video surveillance is no longer just about security, it’s about staying connected with our homes and loved ones. Planned or unplanned, magic moments happen in our homes every day and we designed the Logi Circle as your destination for capturing and discovering them no matter where you are or what you’re doing. Now you can watch your kids playing or catch your dog chasing its tail even if you’re running errands, traveling for business or at the office.

The Logitech Logi Circle camera will start shipping next month throughout the US and selected countries within Europe.
