Today Logitech announced an update to their Ultimate Ears’ range of Bluetooth speakers.

As part of this update, the Boom, Boom 2 and the MegaBoom will be receiving multi-room functionality in the form of a new PartyUp feature that will allow you to pair up to 50 speakers together.

This is a huge improvement, as before you could only pair two speaker together, which allowed you to create a stereo pair, however, it wouldn’t provide that full multi-room experience that you were looking for.

With the new PartyUp feature, you can finally take advantage of that.

To get going, all you need to do is swipe to the PartyUp area of the companion app. In that section the app will scan for any Boom, Boom 2 or Megaboom speakers that are nearby, even if they are turned off.

It will then link to these and allow you to play song through all of these speakers at the same time.

Sadly, it won’t allow you to play different songs, on different speakers though.

Charlotte Johs, general manager of Ultimate Ears said more about the new update:

“Music connects people in extraordinary ways, now, when friends come together, they can easily connect their speakers without worrying about limitations”.

“Whether you are your crew are on a rooftop without a power outlet, or 50 of your closest pals are floating down a river without a dry spot in sight, PartyUp lets the party grow within seconds”.
