If you have ever heard or been to London you have most defiantly seen one of those big red phone boxes associated with the great city, which look great but is starting to become irrelevant and unused in this new technological age.

Spectrum Interactive think they have a solution to this by fitting the pay phones with their own WiFi hotspots, allowing users of the boxes to access the internet in trade for a phone number and an e-coupon.

The program began its testing phase late last year and has already been fitted into 1,800 phone boxes since that time, which is largely due to help from there Finnish partner’s, Nokia.

We think this is a great idea and will certainly help London keep some of its great heritage through this technological age, but what do you think?
