A Kickstarter campaign from a company named Love Turntable Inc was launched this week, called LOVE, it is claimed to be the “first intelligent turntable”.

To launch it, they are looking to raise a total of $50,000 on the crowdfunding site, for which they are offering backers with a smartphone-controlled turntable that scans any record via a linear tracking sensor to bring your vinyls into the future.

With that sensor, LOVE is able to determine the size of the record and the number of tracks on it, with which it can then use to supply you with the ability to skip tracks by simply tapping on the top of its shell. It will also work with a companion app for Android and iOS, which will allow you to control this playback and even listen to your records right from your smartphone.

The app will also provide more details about the record that you are playing, including album details and cover art.

LOVE is also capable of streaming this sound to a pair of Bluetooth or WiFi enabled speakers, headphones, or home theater systems thanks to its Wi-Fi compatibility and DNLA support, and if you prefer a wired sound, LOVE also has a 3.5mm jack and an RCA plug.

It will be launching on Kickstarter soon, where they will offer backers with a pre-order for pledges from $299. Before then, you can register your interest in the campaign at the source link below and get 50% off.
