We’ve all done it, ordered from some place on the internet and ended up with the wrong item, but Seth Horvitz recent Amazon order was a little different and instead of receiving his brand new 39-inch Westinghouse LED HDTV from one of Amazon’s third-party retailers he received a brand new Sig Sauer SIG716 semi-automatic assault rifle, which would have set him back $2,132 if he actually purchased this particular item.

Once Horvitz found that his HDTV had turned into an assault rifle he did what many others would and phoned the police, alerting them that he was, mistakenly, in the possession of an assault rifle, who responded quickly to seize the gun.

Apparently the gun was supposed to be shipped to a gun shop in Pennslvania, but ended up on Horvitz’s doorstep instead, in his interview with Fox 5 he said:

“Police were a little confused at first, they’ve never seen anything quite like it, They just took my information and then said we’ll handle this weapon because it’s illegal to keep here. It’s illegal to transport in a car, so it can’t be returned.”

This seems to be a very dangerous situation and is one major reason for the US to set in place stricter gun rules, Amazon say as they did not ship the item they hold no responsibility for the item but they are looking into the situation.
