After a number of reports that it might be, BioWare has today officially confirmed that Mass Effect Andromeda has been delayed until early 2017.

This comes after the Electronic Arts’ Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen suggested that the game would be pushed back in March, however, then he said the game would be delayed until EA’s fourth quarter, it seems this has been increased further this week.

The General Manager of BioWare Aaryn Flynn explained the news with the following:

“One of our biggest ambitions is to give players an unprecedented level of freedom for a Mass Effect experience – where you’ll go, how you’ll get there, and how you’ll play.”

They also stated that they want to make sure that they can deliver everything that the game can be and should be, and with previous news that should be pretty good.

Thankfully, we will know more about the game on June 12th at EA’s E3 press conference.
