Two of the biggest credit card issuers in the world, Mastercard and Visa have warned today that there has been a security breach that could affect literally millions of customers, the breach happened at a third party card processor between January 21st and February 25h 2012, and only seemed to focused on cards used within New York taxis.

Currently, the two companies are in te process of notifying banks that carry their cards, who in turn will warn customers, right now though these are the only two companies doing so, but other credit companies are reportedly monitoring customer account activity for unusual spending.

The best thing to do right now is to keep track of all your accounts, keeping track of any and all purchases, if you do find anything fraudulent please be sure to contact your card issuer, who will further help you with the issue.
