Details leaked by McDonald’s suggest that Google’s Android Pay mobile payments system will launch as soon as August 26th in the US.

We know this after Android Police launched some images of internal documents earlier this week. The documents from McDonald’s informed staff of the updated payment methods that would be launching in restaurants from August.

There’s also a reference to window stickers so customers will know how to pay, expected to be put up in restaurants on August 27th.

We know that when it does launch it will work in a similar way to Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, however it will be base software on the Android mobile operating system.

Apple Pay is already available in outlets around the UK and US, and we know that Samsung Pay will launch from August 21st.

As August 27th is a Wednesday we know that these rumours may be true, given that Google likes to update its apps and services on that day of the week.

We don’t yet know if the service will make it to the UK or other regions internationally.
