The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu has this week unveiled a new Ubuntu handset ahead of MWC 2016.

This comes in the form of its new Ubuntu Edition Pro 5 smartphone, which is the most powerful Ubuntu phone yet. Featuring a 5.7 inch AMOLED 1080p display, an eight-core Samsung Exynos 7420 processor, either 3GB or 4GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage and a fingerprint sensor.

It also features a 21 megapixel camera on the back of the smartphone, a 5 megapixel shooter on the front and a 3,050 mAh battery inside and Meizu’s mCharge technology inside.

You will be able to pre-order the new Pro 5 Ubuntu Edition from Monday, and the phone will be shown off during the Mobile World Congress event next week in Barcelona.

Canonical has yet to announce the price for the device, but it says it will be available to anyone around the world.
