According to a recent report by TechCrunch, Microsoft may be looking to acquire the Sunrise calendar app.

In case you don’t know, Sunrise makes a range of calendar applications for both mobile and desktop platforms, all of which allow users to connect their calendars from a range of different sources and view them from within the app.

The main draw of this is that it pulls all of this into a nicely designed interface.

It is expected that Microsoft will use the technology from Sunrise in order to improve its office range of apps, much like what they did with the email startup Acompli, they may also be looking to make a standalone calendar app.

This will link to a number of Microsoft’s other recent acquisitions that they are using to help upgrade their Office suite.

The report states that Microsoft is looking to purchase the company for $100 million.
