Microsoft has today announced a new price drop for the Xbox One, bringing the recommended retail price down to £329.99 for the standard edition without a Kinect sensor.
This also means that it is at the same price as the PlayStation 4 for the first time, as well as being £20 cheaper than before.
For that price you get both the Xbox One console and a controller for it, however for a game or for the Kinect sensor you will need to pay a little extra. You may also need an Xbox Live subscription on top of that.
A Microsoft spokesman told Eurogamer the following about the price reduction: “we are always looking at ways to offer the best value for our customers,” he said. “This is a UK only retail promotion which coincides with our upcoming releases including Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.”
For the version of the Xbox One that comes bundled with a Kinect sensor you will need to spend about £480, there’s also a selection of other bundles that comes with a selectiongames as well.
