In the form of a Christmas gift, Microsoft has today gifted 20GB of SkyDrive space to all of their Windows Phone users, who will have until the end of January to redeem their gift, after which the storage will last for one year, and will be given as an incentive to those who are thinking of buying a Windows Phone this Christmas.

The SkyDrive service allows users to upload and sync their files across a number of platforms, with ability to use Office Web Apps like Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Users normally get 7GB by default, however there’s a number of other ways to get extra storage, with the company giving 200GB to users who purchase of the Surface 2 or Surface 2 Pro, and now the 20GB redemption.

Users just need to check their email to redeem the storage.
