Following some major backlash, Microsoft has today announced a massive U-Turn to its Xbox One policies, writing on its Xbox blog that “as a result of feedback from the Xbox community.” Xbox One games will no longer need to be check every 24 hours.

“After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360.”

Alongside that, they will also be reversing its used games policy, noting that “there will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360.”

Alongside this there will no longer be any regional restrictions, however you will not be able to share or sell-on downloaded titles, and as a result of these changes, playing a game will require the disc in the tray.

However who really cares about that anyway.
