Lately Microsoft has become less and less innovative with their hardware, with the Xbox 360 being the most sold product they make, finally, this is all going to change with Microsoft now developing their own smartphone, which is shown in the patient above.

The patent consists of a slider smartphone with a wide range of exchangeable keyboard’s, one is a remote control, a battery and a strange looking board for videos I presume, there is one huge downside to this, which is the simple fact you will have to carry around all of the accessories around in order to get full functionality on the phone.

But there is a huge upside, allowing other devices to gain a lot more functionality that runs the windows phone os, and could even make Microsoft’s mobile platform huge. But as Microsoft do not make their own phones just yet, this technology will more than likely never be used.

What do you think about this? Would you buy a phone with exchangeable keyboards?
