One of the biggest features that Apple included on the new MacBook Pro was the Touch ID sensor, which finally brought a fingerprint reader to Mac, sadly they didn’t expand this to their wireless keyboard, meaning that it didn’t work with the desktop Macs.

Today Microsoft quietly unveiled their own solution to do exactly that but with Windows.

Called the Modern Keyboard, it comes with a hidden fingerprint reader built right into a key on the keyboard and allows you to unlock with your fingerprint right from the keyboard.

Microsoft explained more with the following:

Our vision was to blend the Fingerprint reader into a keyboard, so it would appear to be any other key.

We iterated relentlessly to improve each layer, making sure they came together to create a flawless typing experience that felt like any other key.
