Microsoft recently announced its latest financial results, in which it revealed some details about Xbox Live.

In the results, they announced that Xbox Live now has a total of 48 million active users every month, which is a 9 million user increase from the previous quarter.

In that quarter, Microsoft had 39 million active monthly users on Xbox Live, which means Microsoft received gains of around 3 million per month.

Sadly they did not reveal any information on how many of the Xbox One consoles they sold in the quarter or the amount of revenue/ profit they received from those sales.

Earlier this month some sources did estimate that those sales where at around 18 million units since the console launched, however, that has not been confirmed.

Electronic Arts also held a financial call earlier this week, and during it EA CFO Blake Jorgensen revealed that Microsoft sold around 19 million units, stating that there were 55 million units in total. If you take away Sony’s confirmed 35.9 million sales, you get 19 million.

“Our estimate is 55 million units out there, which has exceeded virtually everyone’s forecast for the year, and is now almost 50 percent higher than the previous console cycle.”
