Microsoft has revealed an Office application for iPad, revealed at the company’s press briefing earlier today, the app will be available from iTunes now for kinda free. We say kinda as it will need an Office 365 subscription in order to edit documents.

Like the iPhone version, users will be able to view documents and give presentations for free, however everything else will require a monthly subscription.

The app will contain Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and will linking with a OneDrive or SharePoint account to allow document saving to the cloud, alongside the normal iPad storage.

Aside from that the app looks and feels much like any other Office application.

The app is available to download on the iPad for free today, however as mentioned before, you will need an Office 365 subscription to use certain features, thankfully the app comes with a free 30-day trail, after which a subscription costs £79.99 a year or £7.99 a month, however that’s not that expensive given that it also allows you to use the iPhone, Windows, Android and Mac versions of the software too.
