Speaking at the Wired Business Conference, the head of engineering at Microsoft, Julie Larson-Green today confirmed that the next update to Windows, dubbed Windows Blue or rather Windows 8.1, will be available to download as a preview from late June.

Continuing to say that the public preview will be available to all of those who currently run Windows 8 at the end of June, which will presumably link up with Microsoft’s Build conference between the 26th and 18th of June.

There’s not much news on what will be included with the update, but Tami Reller, the chief financial officer, did say the following about the platform. “Windows Blue is a codename for an update that will be available later this year, building on the bold vision set forward with Windows 8 to deliver the next generation of tablets and PCs.”

Of course we should find out a lot more about the updated OS soon, and as soon as we do we will pass on the information to you.
