Today Microsoft surprised us with the unveiling of a brand new 2-in-1 convertible, it is called the Surface Pro with LTE and as the name suggests, it is an updated version of the Surface Pro that they unveiled quite some time ago but with LTE connectivity, allowing you to truly use it anywhere.

Microsoft thinks that it will be mostly business customers who will be purchasing this convertible and so they will be specifically targeting those customers and will be offering their own version of the new Surface Pro from December of this year.

That said, they will be expanding that release to all customers in 2018.

But it isn’t just simple LTE connectivity that this new Surface Pro has.

Microsoft has fitted it out with a CAT 9 modem that results in the “fastest LTE-enabled laptop in its class”, featuring 20 bands of LTE support.

Aside from that, it is pretty similar to the original convertible.

You will be able to pick it up from December 1st with an Intel Core i5 processor. Sadly, there won’t be an i7 option as the new LTE hardware will be taking the place of the fan that is needed for that processor.

You will also be able to grab it with either 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage or with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

They will be available for $1,149 and $1,449 respectively in the US.

Sadly, we don’t know other worldwide availability or pricing details just yet.
