An anonymous tipper has just gave Engadget the news that during Microsoft’s TechReady 15 conference, they laid out all the details we have been waiting to hear for the Windows RT model of the Surface tablet.

The first is that the Surface RT will be launching on October 26th, which makes sense since that’s the same as Windows 8, but the best bit is the price will be $199 (£126).

If that’s true than that would certainly place the tablet in line with the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire, and will likely mean massive sales for the Surface RT tablet as to be honest who would not want a Windows 8 operating system on their tablet?

There’s no news on any other pricing or release dates for other countries but we will let you know if any news breaks.
