Microsoft announced their new Surface tablet a long time ago, but they have only just announced the release date for both Windows 8 and Surface tablet on October 26th, Microsoft stated that, “The next version of our operating system, Windows 8, will be generally available on October 26, 2012, At that time, we will begin selling the Surface, a series of Microsoft-designed and manufactured hardware devices.”

The first to release will be the Surface RT on October 26th and will run NVIDIA’s ARM processor, after which Microsoft will ship the Surface for WIndows 8 Pro, which will pack an Intel Ivy Bridge i5 core processor.

Pricing for new Surface tablet has not yet been revealed, but Microsoft have stated it will be comparable to other tablets on the market.
