Minecraft has today been announced for the Xbox One, with the new next-gen game Minecraft: Xbox One Edition coming out on September 5th.

Those who already own the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft can pay £4 to get upgraded to the new Xbox One version, however for first-time buyers they will have to drop the full £16.

That price does bring you some extra features, more notably worlds are now 36 times larger than on the Xbox 360, those who upgrade can transfer their worlds into the new version, allowing those to continue from where they left off. Skins and texture pack won’t move however.

The Xbox One feature will also take advantage of Xbox One with four-player split-screen features, and the ability to play with up to 8 players over Xbox Live.

Not release date has been announced for the PS4 or PS Vita yet.
