Motorola and Verizon Wireless has today announced a new partnership to launch a new smartphone dubbed the Motorola Droid Ultra, a new handset that reportedly packs performance in a slim form factor.

Alongside which the Ultra packs a dual-core X8 Mobile Computing system, with a new “Touchless control” that allows your phone to listen to you all the time, coupled with a new active display technology that will only light up part of the screen to save battery.

There’s also an f/2.0 10 megapixel camera.

The Motorola Droid Ultra is priced at $199 in the USA, available on a two-year contract with Verizon in both black and red, the smartphone will launch on August 20th.
