Have you been putting off your trip to the world’s highest peak due to a lack of internet? Well now is your time to pack up your laptop, mouse and keyboard as it has just been announced that Mount Everest will now provide access to 4G LTE connections.

Yup, it really has gone that far.

Deployed by Huawei and China Mobile, the new 4G LTE towers have been placed at the Mount Everest base camp, which is located 5200 metres above sea level, providing internet access to all the explorers who just can’t wait to update their Facebook status.

In fact its for more than that, with the two companies even showing off how the connection could stream HD content in front of 200 guests at their opening event.

So there’s still no excuse to miss an episode of Game of Thrones, even at the world’s highest peak.
