Mozilla have today unveiled their latest phone for their new Firefox OS, built on open web standards the new OS has been designed to be accessible and available to anyone who wants it.

In order to get some developers on board before the platform officially launches however the company has decided to some developer preview phones that will pack the new OS.

Developed by Geeksphone and in partnership with Telefonica the handset will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 1GHz processor with 512MB of RAM a 3.5mm touchscreen with 480 x 320 resolution, 3 megapixel camera and 4GB of on-board storage.

There’s also a microSD slot and 1,580mAh battery.

In order to try out the new OS, developers can either download the Android app or access the Firefox OS simulator on Windows, Mac and Linux at hacks.mozilla.org.
