Earlier last week MSI teased the release of a new lightweight gaming laptop, dubbed the GE40, the 14 inch gaming laptop will start at $1,400 which sets it speciously close to the Alienware 14, which was announced earlier this week, although it is a bit pricier.

For that however, you do get a better set of specs with a 2.9GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX760M GPU, 8GB of RAM, a 750GB 7,200RPM HDD, a 90W battery and a 1,600 x 900 resolution display.

Alongside this is even lighter than the Alienware 14, weighing in at 4.4 pounds compared to the 6.1 pounds the Alienware laptop weighs.

And on top of that, they are also offering a second version that packs a 128GB mSATA SSD alongside the 750GB HDD.

So it looks like the MSI laptop might be a better option, that is if you’re not a fanboy of course.
