Today Netgear unveiled what they claim to be the world’s fastest router, called the Nighthawk X10 AD7200 Smart WiFi Router, Netgear says that it is the industry’s first and fastest router for media streaming and instant backups.

To do that, the X10 features a range of impressive specifications, including a 1.7GHz Quad-Core processor, a Quad-Stream Wave 2 WiFi architecture, and next generation high-speed 802.11ad WiFi technology with support for up to 7.2Gbps speeds.

On top of that, it also has MU-MIMO technology in-built that allows for simultaneous streaming. It is also capable of streaming WiFi at 160MHz for faster speeds on mobile devices, with four patent-pending external Active Antennas to maximize range and throughput.

But that still isn’t all of the features that the new router has, with support for Plex Media Server and 4K streaming.

Netgear says that the Nighthawk X10 is the industry’s first router to run a Plex Media Server without the need for a computer, it works by attaching locally connected storage for streaming movies, TV shows, music, videos, photos, and more, and with every purchase of the X10 you will get a three-month Plex Pass to access all of that.

It also comes with 6 Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, with dual ports that can be operated in a line aggregation mode for faster file transfers and up to 2Gbps wired speeds. It also has 2 USB 3.0 ports, support for Netgear ReadyCLOUD, automatic backup to the cloud with Amazon Drive, and more.
