EvLeaks have today posted an image of a mysterious red smartphone from Nokia on Twitter this week, which according to The Verge is the rumoured Nokia Android handset, however as of yet there’s no confirmation on this rumour.

The device has been codenamed “Normandy”, and will reportedly run a forked version of Android somewhat similar to that of the Kindle Fire line, with the software not looking a lot like stock Android and will be aimed at the low-end market, however no specifications for the handset have been revealed yet.

It’s also still not clear as to when the smartphone will be released, but it would make sense for it to be released in Q1 of 2014, however The Verge have also noted that employees within Nokia have been notified that the project is “full steam ahead” and will be released in 2014.
