Today Google sent out invites to the members of the press, inviting them to a pre-Earth day event in New York City.
They didn’t reveal much about what they will be doing, however, they did state that they will be unveiling a brand new experience for the Google Earth application, which is pretty fitting given the occasion.
We don’t know what this experience will be or what it will include.
We have previously heard from the Earth team that they plan to add additional support for Google Earth on more platforms, specifically for VR headsets, so we would expect to see that during the event, as well as an updated version for current platforms like Google Daydream.
We also wouldn’t be surprised to see new ways to use Earth for virtual tours or augmented experiences, as well as a new design for the service.
Of course, we will update you when we hear the official stuff.
The unveil will kick off on April 18th, 8:30 AM ET at New York’s Whitney Museum of Art.
