Qualcomm have been at the top of the mobile processor market for some time now, and they are still getting better, today announced its latest addition to the Snapdragon 80 family, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805, which the company says will be the next generation of mobile processor, featuring entirely new specs, the 805 includes a new Adreno 430 GPU and Krait 450 quad-core CPU, which is the first mobile CPU that runs at speeds of up to 2.5GHz per core, and includes a memory bandwidth of 25.6GBs

The Adreno 420 GPU is also claimed to be 40 percent more powerful than the last generation.

Alongside that the new processor also includes support for advanced rendering of Ultra HD content, allowing for playback on the device itself or on a compatible TV, and is the first chip to include support for 4K HEVC decoding.

Commercial devices are expect to be powered by the Snapdragon 805 processor by the first half of 2014.
