The next Star Wars film from Lucasfilm and Disney got a name reveal today.

Ahead of April’s Star Wars celebrations, the publisher revealed the official title of Star Wars: Episode VIII will be Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The Last Jedi will open in theatres worldwide on December 15th and that’s about all that we know about it just yet. One could presume that it would be focused on Luke Skywalker, following on from that cliffhanger at the end of The Force Awakens.

Some also presume that the film may be about Rey and the path that she might be coming on to become a Jedi and possibly the last Jedi.

Of course, that would mean that Luke would have to die.

We also know that the cast from The Force Awakens will be returning for the film, including Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, and Mark Hamill, with new cast members Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern.

According to reports, a trailer for the film will be released during the Super Bowl on February 5th, at which point we will update you.
