Nikon has today unveiled the first ever compact system camera that is Waterproof, in the form of the Nikon 1 AW1 it is a tough and waterproof camera that can be submersed down to 15 metres of water, and includes two separate waterproof lenses to suit your needs, the first is a 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6 lens and the second is a 10mm f/2.8 lens, both of which will be sold separately, however the camera is also compatible with all Nikon 1 lenses, although that will mean the camera is no longer waterproof.

Also featured is a 14.2 megapixel 1 inch CMOS sensor with an Expeed 3A processing engine, so nothing to new, aside from its tough, dustproof and waterproof body anyway.

The camera will be available from October 10th for £750 with a kit lens, available in black, white and silver. The 10mm waterproof lens will retail for £300 on its own, only available in black.
