During CES 2016 this week, Nikon revealed their plans to make their way into the action cam market, announcing the launch of the KeyMission 360.

Now this isn’t the first 360-degree action cam however, it is definitely interesting just for the fact that Nikon are making it, using its knowledge of creating camera technology to build this new device that can capture 4K 360 degree video.

This will make it great for capturing content for use with virtual reality.

Not only that, but the device also features a great rugged design, that makes it waterproof in up to 30m of water, making it great for use in outside environments, so much so that Nikon are calling the camera an wearable.

Not only is it rugged and waterproof, but it also features electronic vibration reduction.

At the moment Nikon are only revealing the KeyMission 360 as a reference device, but it is expected to be released in full in spring 2016, with a number of accessories.

There’s no word on pricing just yet either.
