Overnight Nintendo held their own broadcast where they revealed a new 3DS XL console, the handheld will be released on August 19th for $199.99 in America, in Europe and Japan it’s set for July 28th but a price is yet to be confirmed for these two sides of the planet, although it has been rumored that Nintendo will allow UK retails to decide how much to sell it for.

Getting into the details you actually want to hear, the XL will come with a 4.88 inch top screen and 4.18 inch screen below, which is 90% larger than the original 3DS ans still they are managing to keep the resolution the same, alongside the bigger screens the XL will also have a bigger battery life of between 3.5 and 6.5 hours whilst playing 3D game, which was 3.5 hours for the old 3DS, but if you switch to a DS game you will get between 6 and 10 hours of gameplay, but in return the battery will take around 3 and a half hours to charge.

Alongside that the console will also of course come with an AC adapter and a 4GB SD card, so will you be picking your device up when it hits your country, when you do you will have the choice of red or blue, or silver if you live in Europe.
