Reggie Fils-Aime the president of Nintendo of America has announced that the Wii U has sold 400k units in the first week within North America, which is only a small fraction of their 1.2 million total hardware sales during the last week.

These include the Wii which sold 300K units, the Nintendo 3DS which sold 250K and the older DS which sold 275K, which is a ton when you look how old that device is.

These are huge numbers, but when looking at what the previous generations of the devices have also sold in the week it doesn’t seem that impressive, with the device launching in the UK and rest of Europe soon we could however see these numbers skyrocket majorly.
