Nixon has today unveiled their latest smartwatch, called the Nixon Mission it has been designed specifically for surfers, snowboarders or skiers.

To fit that design, the Mission is said to be the first smartwatch that is capable of reaching underwater depths of 100 metres, or 10ATM.

It will also be able to access a companion app to show live information on the weather conditions around the world, allowing them to plan outings and track movements right from the smartwatch, and since it runs on Android Wear, it can access a lot more alongside that too.

However, that does also mean that it will need a connection to a smartphone in order to be updated with live information.

In terms of features, the Nikon Mission has a round AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass, along with a steel bezel and polycarbonate/ stainless steel shell, the wristband is also made from silicone.

This band can be customised with a range of options, and so can the bezel. The display is also able to mimic other watches from Nixon, like the 51-30, The Sentry, The Player, The Ranger and The Unit.

Inside there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor.

The Nixon Mission will be available to purchase this autumn, no pricing has been announced yet.
