Today Nokia confirmed that they will be rolling out a new Symbian Belle update to a number of their newer Symbian handsets from February 2012, the update was announced today in Nokia’s official blog, alongside the announcement that they will be moving away from the Symbian name, now referring to the software as ‘Nokia Belle’.

In the post-Nokia confirmed that the Nokia N8/6/7, X7, c6-01/7 and the Oro will be the first of their Symbian handsets to be updated in February, with the Nokia 700, 701 and 603 to be launched earlier in the year.

When the update is released users will be able to download the update to their phones over–the air, and will incorporate additional home screens, new widgets alongside other UI improvements.
